Half-Life: Year of the Dragon is an pushing mod for the creative Half-Life with only one goal: Throw the total game work around Spyro the Dragon (thanks, GamesRadar+). I mean, why non. Created by modder Magic Nipples(!), this project presents Half-Life's environments from a third-person perspective, picks and chooses levels from the new Half-Life, and remixes them to work with the irritating dragon's moveset.

The mod is not yet free though there are some work-in-progress demos and the below trailer: "Essentially you'd have a hub worldly concern replaceable to that of a typical Spyro game," writes Magic Nipples. "So you'd have a extract of 10 or and then chapters from Half-Life and expansions. I still have to settle the list, but expect something like that."

Magic Nipples' previous mods imply a lot of make for with Half-Life, including a fashionable that restores a mass of cut content from the gamey, and these experiences led them towards building this with the Xash3D engine quite than the Steam adaptation of Uncomplete-Life. As for the choice of hero... "I wanted to do this with Mario, simply knowing how Nintendo would like a sho shoot IT down I chose the close best thing," they told GR+.

Sounds like a challenge. First modder to replace the TF2 be sick with residents of the Mushroom-shaped cloud Land wins a large lawsuit.

The most newsworthy aspect of this mod by far is how much the creator has concluded dormy changing the original game to suitable approximately Spyro: what began as a fairly simple idea is now a more multifactorial and involved project. "IT's not that I hate the Half life campaign, but I think some chapters just aren't interesting to play as Spyro, even with changes to fit his mechanics," Deceptio Nipples says. "Also that would be too taxing for me to do with the visual bump I've been giving things so far. That's wherefore I'd rather hand-pick some chapters all trussed with a hub global of sorts instead."

The fashionable has previously been shown in a little visually expansive work, before Magic Nipples worked roughly magic to raise the look and make the Spyro mannikin better suit Black Table. "My briny reasons for doing so are mostly being disgusted the original Half-Life look from years of looking at IT, and this rife look, while requiring more elbow grease to look good, gives me a better feeling of accomplishment for doing then. It no longer just feels like I ported a Spyro pattern into Half life, and named it a day."

I mean... that would have got been fine also. You can come after the progress of Twelvemonth of the Dragon and mental testing KO'd various builds o'er at ModDB.
